Staking, governance, or just hold for generational wealth.
We are creating a platform of permissionless stablecoins, fully collaterised and backed by and redeemable for a variety of assets. We hope over time to, via a process of evolution within the platform, to find the baskets that will remain robust and stable, regardless of economic conditions, politics... RSR holders can offer insurance on top of the stable coins, in return for yield generated by the protocol. Thats the staking element for RSR holders, along with governing rights too. Bear in mind RSR can be seized in the event of a "Black Swan" event, it's true staking in that sense (your coins are at "stake"). Post-mainnet, RTokens can be created, they can be insured by RSR via the dApp, and citizens / corporations / maybe larger institutes can look to create their own stablecoins for various purposes. That's on top of what we're doing at the moment, with 620,000 registered users and 23,000 merchants using RSV (our first stablecoin) along with companies using us for payroll etc.
anyone can create the rtoken and choose the assets that it is backed by?
What a great simple explanation.
Why price is not booming as expected? I come from guruji group
There is a #price group, but I will say I like the saying "short term, price is a popularity contest, long term is a weighing machine". If crypto was a school year book, we might not be putting our energy right now into being voted "most popular kid", but we might be trying to go for "most likely to succeed". (Thats not a prediction, just where we're putting our energy! Do it right, and do it well)
What is the price prediction for RSR? As this is the official Reserve Telegram group, you won't find any future price predictions in this channel. If you would like to speculate on the future price of RSR, please visit any of the unofficial Reserve groups, such as the Reserve Lodge. ⚠️ Please keep in mind that buying volatile cryptocurrencies contains high risk. While the price of any coin/token can go up, it can also go down. Please do the necessary due dilligence before buying any cryptocurrency.
what is the expected apy of staking? if risk taken is low, current apy on stablecoins is less than 4%
@Xin333, that image I posted a few posts up might help visualise it. If an RToken was relatively underinsured, but the m-cap kept growing, yield would increase, causing more people to insure the RToken, bringing the yield down again.
quick question... it sounds like RSR generates revenue by providing insurance for the RTokens. However, how does the RTokens pay for the insurance? Is the RSR holder getting "yield" in the form of new RSR tokens or in the form of RTokens/USDC
