How do we get him on?
Geez, I think everyone just needs to haunt his youtube channel and comment like mad!
@TheRealTrimBot Russel does repeatedly say he reads his comments...a concerted effort by the community on a given video or for a given period of time might get his attention.
Ah okay, I don’t watch his stuff, so maybe I’m wrong. I do think it’s important how you frame the comments though…I’m guessing he wouldn’t care much about EOS, but may be interested in the story if framed properly.
The framing and relevancy is definitely important. I watch and have seen a high percentage of his videos where he finishes with, or interjects his opinion calling for the need for a decentralized governance structure/community and from that angle he almost describes Eden. Then discussing the 4B$ DAO, or the functioning of EOS DPoS could be of interest to him. Pomelo could also be of interest, and then just have whoever goes on be conciliatory, play the B1 is not EOS card, and the strength of the tech along with the consensus building decentralized community philosophy.
I think trimbot was more specifically talking about the story itself, not necessarily the individual parts (which only serve to confuse). A network of individuals taking on a company that squeezed 4 billion out of them, and winning; that's powerful. Everything else comes after the hook.
If the angle is: How 4B dollars was stolen by Peter Thiel, Alan Howard, Louis Bacon, Richard Li, Mike Novogratz, Christian Angermayer, and Nomura. That alone could grab his interest, yes. How they're now trying to launder it through the launch of a SPAC with Blackrock and Far Peak continues to make the story interesting, from a newsworthy perspective. But the Eden/DAO/DAC/DPoS Community creation and consensus building is what will keep his interest, and what would bring outside interest in what we're doing here, or of greater interest what could be built here.
Cobie is also asking his 700k followers for help with this. Anyone have any leads? https://twitter.com/cobie/status/1535764475382464517

@sweatyrat I have no idea who cobie is or why he wants to come on these guys shows...could one of you two give a quick tldr?
A mega crypto influencer and UpOnly podcast host. His tweets regularly get thousands of likes
Quality TRUMPS Quantity imho. Time Reveals All.
Not sure what point you're trying to make here. His substack is also of high quality https://cobie.substack.com
Me neither. I am speaking from an uninformed position on said particular subject matter. High Quality + High Quantity is better than Low Quality + High Quantity & High Quality + Low Quantity. It's simple math. Just need to reveal what is already fact and need to cut through the noise of disinformation and misinformation through manipulation of language, syntax and tech.
Is there a reason you guys brought him up? I mean, I'm sure there's tons of people trying to get on Russel or Lex, the question is what do they have to offer? If this guy is simply a bitcoin/crypto trader who thinks he's interesting because he has 700k followers, I don't think we're talking about the same thing. You can't really do a 3hr podcast with lex friedman about your trading strategies...maybe with someone else that's a better fit.
He’s probably the most respected crypto thought leader.
@thebullishbear I see, I'll have to look him up and see what he's talking about, or else I'd just be speculating from here on out about cobie
partially to show that if he can't get on, nobody we want representing EOS has a chance, also seems like the quickest approach for external creators is by appealing to CT with large followers
I assumed that was the point, but didn't want to jump to conclusions. The idea with approaching Russell is his interest in decentralized governance and our answer to it from one angle, from the other our separation with B1. Same with Lex. If we want to keep banging on the doors of the crypto community who have largely turned their backs on EOS, it's a steep uphill climb, I'm not saying it shouldn't be done or that we can't get them back... I think we may have a shot appealing to communities outside of crypto with actual usecases(i recognize we need more usecases) who haven't lost money and/or time with EOS previously. And preparing marketing campaigns to get the new wave of crypto enthusiasts coming in now.
I have heard rumors on the street that emotionally about 75% are neutral or positive about EOS. Since we haven't had a marketing presence for that long, many people in crypto have never heard of EOS. Therefore, I believe that the statement that the crypto community has largely turned its back on EOS is false.
This is good to hear. But I would still treat the crypto space as an uphill battle and put serious work into making sure we are viewed favorably.
I can donate eos accounts russellbrand and rustyrockets
