Delegation does not involve sending your tokens to a validator’s wallet. A delegator can transfer the rights contained in their token without moving those tokens from one wallet to the other. The tokens can be held in a smart contract that allows a validator to use them while the delegator maintains ownership. So answer is Yes, your funds will be safe.
