I want to know more about backend stuff. E.g where

is each apps data getting stored? How are you offering a highly available application? Where are the data centres etc? What is making nervos network resilient?

Data centers? This is not Amazon AWS or Google cloud. The onchain data of the applications is inside the blockchain. The offchain part depends on each application.

Can you elaborate more on on chain vs offchain with an example. I thought nervos offer decentralised storage too for apps.

The onchain part of an application is what you refer to as decentralized storage, for example a smartscontract. Each complete node of the network keeps a complete copy of the blockchain, therefore the onchain part of the application is saved by thousands of nodes, you can have it if you run Neuron on your PC. That is why it is decentralized.

The meaning of dApp itself is “decentralized application”. At a minimum, it is a smart contract and a web user interface. In a broader sense, dApps are web applications that are built on top of open, decentralized, peer-to-peer infrastructure services. Additionally, many DApps include decentralized storage and/or a message protocol and platform. So, for Nervos, the dapp itself is onchain, you use ckb for storage (that’s its utility); but then a particular dApp can decide where and how store their individual data (not de dApp data itself which must be onchain)

Nervos $CKB has its own mainnet and is not an ERC/BSC/HECO token. Visit our linktree to know more 👉 linktr.ee/nervos
