And why are LPs like Celsius choosing to withdraw when they are suffering such large losses? Is Bancor providing them with separate compensation (off-chain)?
Really good question... @JensTelegram ?
The decison wasn't DAO controlled when it came time to shut down ILP + the pool rebalance BNT 🤷♂️ it was pretty centralized
The Bancor DAO passed BIP21 that gave the multisig signers these emergency powers. Please refer to BIP21 from the Bancor Governance for more information: https://gov.bancor.network/t/bip21-dao-multisig-intervention-policy/3504
Will these people that got out early also share their 'profit' with us who stayed in and might lose even more?
True but in terms of the long-term health of the protocol, it would be an uphill battle when major LPs lost 1000s of ETH
This is an odd attitude. I have had LINK in the protocol long enough to be guaranteed IL protection as promised by Bancor. If I pull out at any time past that date, Bancor should provide me with 100% of my LINK. Expecting IL coverage when I have held up my end of the bargain should be given. Any losses I incur from removing my money should be covered by the protocol.
I think that it's not the right time to be asking for compensation for people who got our early and who are not bearing any of the risks anymore. Because lets say worst case scenario that I'm going to lose 90% instead of 40% - 50% those people are not going to compensate me and will run away.
Again, if I leave now it isn't 'early'.
Mate I'm in the same situation. I've been inside the the protocol for over a year. But I've decided not to take a 45% haircut.
Sure but not if you already withdrew, then bye 👋
