decide what the shortest routes are?"
- "What other benefits are there to the SS network other than raw speed?"
- "What's are the SLAs for uptime and performance?"
I’m curious if the Syntropy customer contracts have an SLA for uptime. But technically speaking I think it would be 100% since if darp doesn’t work for some reason, it defaults to BGP
As far as I understand, Darp detects anomalies quickly and routes traffic around them, but only at next ping btw. the nodes. 100% is not possible, a few packets might need to be resent. But only from the time of incident to the next ping+updates of clients about the new routes to take.
99.99% is what like 60 mins downtime for the year. It’s a network overlay, so it really depends upon the uptime of the infrastructure it runs on I feel like 🤔 moreover the enterprise has the ability to control the network paths through stack, so it’s really on them. DARP is autonomous, Syntropy can’t control it as a company so how can they offer an SLA exactly.
also I think your point here boils down to latency itself, which doesn’t equate to downtime.
