What is the point of having X chain if we

can perform transactions on C or P chains?

let's say I have some AVAX on my P chain address and wanna send some to my friend, I can just send to my fd's P chain address directly isn't it

You can look at it this way... you can look at it like this X for fast transfers P for staking and subnet management C for smart contract / EVM stuff (DeFi, NFTs,Games).
