I read about polygon being part of the disney accelerator

program on the news. Wouldn’t this benefit skale if it was part of it? How is polygon able to make these partnership and collaboration so quickly? If skl is better than polygon as claimed, I would assume people from these companies evaluate all the different options

Maybe people from this company did not do their own research correctly 🤷‍♂️

this is an accelerator program, like y-combinator and many others, except in this case it’s run by Disney. If you look at their website, it’s basically for early growth stage companies looking for some funding and advice on how to grow https://sites.disney.com/accelerator/faq/ . We’re not looking for any venture investment, so we’re not applying to accelerators. This does not mean they’re going to get a deal with Disney, though they will certainly get to meet execs. TBH, given the funding that polygon has already accepted, this is a pretty weird move and likely more about positioning and appearances with very little meat.

Interesting, I'm not well versed in venture investments and can't speak much about it because I simply don't know. This is my first time lerning what an accelerator is. I didn't know accelerators were targeted towards early stage startups and If that's the case, I was a bit puzzled seeing EPIC games as part of their portfolio. Since they are already an established huge player in the gaming space. I'm curious what Polygon produces from this disney thing whenever demo day is.

Portfolio means they might have been one of the past classes. Disney has had a venture arm for many years
