extremely positive, logical and well thought out. My concern is with the partnership and the logic of a large dilution event. If in fact we go ahead and inflate the token base by 68M or 18.3% as proposed and the partnership doesn't work out. $TLOS will essentially be debased and may take a long, long time to recover. Wouldn't it be better to institute a fix inflation rate of say 3% to fund the foundation forever? What happens when the $30m runs out? I think its way better from a planning and investor perspective to have fix inflation rate and live within that, then deal with constant possibility of unknown future dilution. Can we get some more color on the partnership? Has a contract been signed? What is the incentive for them to perform? (By "perform", I'm assuming some new user count attributable to them) Is there a penalty if the partner does not perform? Can we debate the merits of a fix inflation rate vs one off dilution events? Lots of questions. .
Questions are good, and these are great ones.
Great questions!
I think a declining inflation rate might make sense. Starting at say 6 or 7 % and declining over a period of time to settle at something reasonable like 1 to 3%. This would give the foundation the funding to make the layer 0 transition now and serve as an incentive to support the token price in the future. As the token value increases and inflation decrease the foundation should have roughly the same amount of funding available. I think its also pretty important to maintain a significant staking reward, otherwise investors will just move someplace where they can get yield. Ok, I've said enough. Hope this inspires some discuss.
I second these questions, is it possible to have more info on the partnership? To adhere to confidentiality perhaps the TF can redact the identifiable markers (names, logos etc.) If there is a signed agreement in place then this should be possible.
Negatory, ghost rider! If there are even hints or guesses, they have been pretty clear the deal is off. We just can't do it.
Interesting, so redacting isn't possible. Just a question then on the highlighted passage above. Is it safe to assume that this means what they are attempting to accomplish with Telos they've not yet done elsewhere? Are we the "guinea pigs" for this attempt at bringing in gamers? Or have they done this before and have a tried and trusted method?
