Could you enlighten me an the progress you make with

EVM 2.0 super node? What is the actual status and when can we potentialy expect a final release? Furthermore I would like to know your thoughts on the actual political situation especially in America with Gerry Gensler SEC who mentioned that all cryptos except Bitcoin are securities. As far as I understood Telos should be treated the same as BTC. What is your opinion regarding this topic? Best regards

Good questions! We expected Telos EVM 2.0 by now but 1.5 hasn't even been released. Development takes time and experiences delays, so that's reasonable but the lack of transparency about this from the TCD is not acceptable. Unfortunately, nothing can be done about it because the TCD has no oversight. That's one reason why I proposed the TEDP4 Governance Addendum to give the community some authority over the TCD through an oversight board.

Good questions! We expected Telos EVM 2.0 by now...

TCD oversight has been addressed in two ways in the current TEDP4 proposal. The first is the TCD will now roll up under the TF, where previously it didn't, and the TF has complete oversight by the community elected Guardians. The second is the proposal that the Guardians take a more deliberate role in participating in the various functional sub-groups of the TF (which will now include the TCD). So here the idea is the Guardians will select the most technically adept (and willing) member to sit in on a weekly or biweekly TCD call (ideally a call reviewing progress on priorities and roadmap development) to then report back to the Guardians as a whole, and have these updates/details reported back to the Telos community via a new Guardian report.

From my perspective I think it's important to keep a watchful eye on what's happening whilst also not getting too caught up in it. Gensler wants to blanket call everything a security. If that happens there is nothing we can do except do what's needed in the US at that time. In the mean time we will continue to diversify our community globally, continue to meet and exceed the standards most agree to for not being a security, and be positive actors in this space. We can only control what we can control.
