"ecash" be entered or only the alphanumeric part? thanks
The ecash: prefix is part of the address and all wallets and exchanges should support it, even though most wallets also support addresses that don't include it. I'm not sure about kucoin, as i don't have an account there.
Just try with the prefix (ecash:). If their system wants it without the prefix it will most likely give you an "invalid address" error or something similar
thanks, I tried with the prefix "ecash" everything went ok funds received, but even without the prefix, Kucoin, it doesn't report me the wrong address
The prefix is optional. The last few characters in the rest of the address data is a checksum that verifies that the prefix is indeed ecash: If the prefix was anything else, it would produce a different checksum. Exchanges and wallets can use this to ensure that this is an ecash address.
Happy to hear it worked like it should. It is always a bit unnerving waiting for coins to show up in your wallet. Like Pierre said they probably implemented it so you can use both options as some wallets/exchanges give it to you with and some without the prefix. So they probably made sure their system accepts it both ways to avoid getting support requests. Good on them.
