Found this video from Mundo Crypto event. Is this true?

Did anyone ever make 50K USD/month with 1 node when DAG was 15c?

I dont think so

And then the team is surprised there’s no trust lol… and those who believed it and are still sticking around with soft nodes will basically get almost no rewards anymore (not even the 35USD/month 😆) while the DOR miners get plenty. I think rewards between soft nodes and DOR miners should be distributed fairly. But I do agree that validator and test net nodes should be the priority and receive the most rewards given their importance to the network and the fact that they have monthly expenses to run those nodes. DOR miners and soft node holders should be treated fairly. In the end none of them add any value to the network.

Well ben said dont take his word for it but yeah dont know how he was that far off with those reward numbers lol. Also agree that it doesnt feel good for dag buyers now when the DTMs reap the benefits.

I'm pretty sure Ben was referring to the original foundational nodes. During this event, soft nodes were still not a thing even if I remember correctly.

Yes indeed, mainnet validators were making much more DAG back then and it has been adjusted since then.

A mainnet validator node operator said a couple months ago that his validator nodes were making about $5,000-6,000 per month each - but now the PRICE of the DAG token is lower. This most likely means that node validators are paid based on token price.

No. They make about 6,000 DAG per month roughly. Not in dollar amounts.

Ah no, so mainnet validators are getting DAG tokens as rewards, but in the past we had neither the soft node program nor the data pool, hence majority of token emission went to mainnet validators. The team decided that this was too much though until the mainnet becomes open and public to everyone to run nodes- thus the soft node program was born. And the rewards were shifted from mainnet validators to the soft node program.

What the F is this, can the team comment on this? That's scam territory lol

No lol. I remember the green dildo candle though. Watched my node go to 100k. Shoulda sold 😂

Crypto mundo was a super big thing in 2021, and wasnt a secret ;) Back then we had no soft nodes and no data pool, hence majority of rewards were going to mainnet validators. https://t.me/constellationcommunity/505017

Pretty sure Ben also said he did not know the actual numbers he was just stating numbers that came to his head. I didn't watch this clip but it probably is taken out of context to the whole conversation.

I can assure you it was not $5k lol. It is now about 5k Dag with costs of around $110. I dream of $5k 🙏

He did say don't quote me on it, but if you don't know the number don't say a number... He isn't just a little of, he's way off, you can't do that, especially not as CEO

Hmmm.... Around that time the token was at it's height though. Node operators were making a lot of dag. So I don't really think the number was too far off.

I think the number wasnt wrong - at that time DAG had a huge increase in the price. Remember the soft node program started november 2021. Crypto mundo was in summer 2021.

Peak price was around 0.45, that's 110k DAG a month for staking your 250K DAG... Don't think that ever happened lol

True but back then they were already talking about everyone being able to run nodes with 250K DAG and pretty much promising that everyone would be able to run one very soon (real node not staking fake nodes). There was no talk about soft nodes. Seems like their goal was just to pump DAG. And this event among other things that were said resulted in high passive income expectations from the community. And in the video they said price of DAG was 15c and making 50K USD per month, so at ATH that 'would' have been 150K/month or 1.8M/year!! 😂. I think Ben knew very well that wasn't true (since everyone here confirms that never happened). Anyway, let's leave that behind now. Hopefully brighter times ahead. But that's only possible if the team can be transparent and most importantly Honest. If the communication, honesty from team can meet the quality of Wyat's invention then I'm very confident things will turn around soon. 🚀DAG🚀🌕

He was asked how much a node makes about right now, and that answer from Ben was indeed the truth at that moment ;)

Ok so 600K USD/year for a node worth 45K. So the monthly rewards of 1 node was… 1 node and some pocket change. Per month. Whatever. We all know we have been lied to for years. So let’s hope that changes now. Please don’t reply to this message cryptix there’s no point

Not sure what you are trying to say - this number Ben mentioned was a snapshot at that time. You haven't been lied to and if you feel so strongly about this you can always choose to leave.

You may want that but no I won’t leave lol. Still have high hopes for the network. And if you’re convinced we weren’t told lies in the past years feel free to do a poll here to prove your point lol. I bet you won’t do that even after having banned the louder voices

yeah that’s crazy that foundational nodes made that much for so long, it was a small circle it seemed. what data were they even validating ?

They were validating mainnet transactions - like I mentioned before it is not uncommon that the reward of young networks are high the best example is Bitcoin where you could mine 50 BTC per block on a old computer in the beginning. the reward distribution got changed the the start of the soft node program and majority of rewards were shifted to it.

For mainnet 1.0 and before they decided they were going to move to 2.0 and have the network open for anyone to run a node, yes those node operators were making up that 50k USD number. Once they created soft nodes, that number greatly reduced.
