check out my recent post on BCR about how the algo's rates would match up: https://bitcoincashresearch.org/t/chip-2023-01-excessive-block-size-adjustment-algorithm-ebaa-based-on-weighted-target-exponential-moving-average-wtema-for-bitcoin-cash/1037/23

"BTC people" can never increase blocksize, because that would make BTC just a worse version of BCH And BCH is a shitcoin. So 8MB BTC = shitcoin. 1MB makes BTC perfect and holy. Maxi logic.

Also, hard-forks are BAAAAAD, they rape your wife and kill your children. So, no hardforks allowed. (This is the argument they used in 2016/2017 blocksize debate to destroy BTC) Upgrading blocksize via soft-fork is theoretically technically possible, but would create 10 x bigger mess than SegWit is right now.

if you think about it, the algo-based blocksize limit *is* a soft fork blocksize upgrade

pls tell me more about the mess SegWit is now

- It is easier and simplier to do a hard-fork than a soft-fork in general. Hard-fork is a "clean cut" with small incision while soft-fork is an open heart surgery - soft-fork is kind of a lie. The nodes on the network who soft-forked, are actually lying to the rest of the network that nothing changed and the old block standard is still being used, while in reality a completely new format has been introduced, of which pre-2017 nodes are not aware of - lie continued: the old pre-upgrade nodes can still use the network and it is allowed! This creates incredible mess and inefficiency, because the old nodes are not using the witness data, so their transactions are less effective and more expensive - SegWit introduced a completely new block format (3 MB of extra witness data), of which, again, old nodes are completely unaware of. This is added incredible complexity and technical debt, which could have been done just by increasing Blocksize - SegWit allows for ordinal data that do not need to pay fees / has to pay less fees. It incentivizes bloating the network with nonsense data that does not support the miners with fees, like BSV does. Should I continue? There is probably more
