Anyone know of an easy way to sell music files

online for BCH? Not a coder. Just wondering if there is a plugin or something already developed.

Id like to find something like this as well. I’ve also thought a file sharing service could be interesting like the old Limewire but where you can donate to people who supply the files or the seeders get a type of Cash rain. Maybe that’s what Kim is trying to do with his FileShop or whatever it is gonna be called. But I do miss the old days of finding amazing remixes of tracks. Don’t miss the computer aids.

Those Limewire days were wild. Computer aids was the worst 😂

There’s no where else these days that you can find incredible mixes that people have made in their bedroom and I find that sad. A bit off-topic 😅

Yeah, if I was a dev I'd just make a simple storefront thingy. Would be willing to pay a modest sum, too, to set such a thing up, if any trusted coder is looking for some side scratch. But then again I don't know how time intensive it would be. The limewire idea is a cool one, too!

This is trivial to do today. Just make a modified torrent client that includes a bitcoincash.address file in every created torrent. On the downloading side, simply look for the file in every torrent. If such file is found, Open BCH client via a filesystem handle and ask for amount.

How hard would it be to build a simple, open-source storefront from which to sell audio files? Seems like this ought to be really straightforward (*seems like* to me but I don't code). There's a million things that can be done at the juncture of CashTokens and music, too!

That would be pretty easy to do, assuming you already have some store code

on the scale of software projects, this one is relatively straightforward, but remember that even the world's most basic software project has a very high amount of required start up time & cost & ongoing maintenance & running oversight and so on. So this is actually quite a substantial project, although it's very clearly within the realm of feasibility and far from the difficult end of the spectrum

Makes sense. Guess I am basically thinking of something like a bare-bones WP plugin or similar. But yeah, sounding simple and being simple in practice/time consumption are two different things.

Yeah, therein lies my core issue.

There are many open-source store fronts and complete e-commerce solutions you know. Why not add BCH support to one of them?

My last foray into coding was a one-hour online course and years before that, chopping up the Q-Basic Gorillas game code to see what happened :)

PodCash is a podcast player that allows tipping (bch only) and charging by the byte for the stream. I don’t see it in the AppStore but I have the apk.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will look into it. Really looking for a simple purchase-mp3s-for-BCH-type mechanism, but tips may be the next best option for now.
