A bit of BCH triva: Does anyone know when the

Wormhole token protocol died?

I remember it was because the dev team that was funded by Bitmain lost their funding and had to close up shop. The protocol was based on a full node fork, and so the protocol got forked off the network during one of the scheduled upgrades. Was it November 2019?

Wormhole was debated as a token solution before the BSV split (November 2018) alongside OP_GROUP, SLP and whatever Calvin was funding. I don't know when it died but IMHO it had faded into irrelevance before Nov 2019. Disclaimer: This is just from my memory and I might be very wrong in my recollection…

it looks like last release kept up with nov 2019 and only fell off may 2020: https://github.com/copernet/wormhole/releases

That's right. If I remember correctly, it fell out of consensus for a while after Nov 2019, but someone managed to restore it until the next network upgrade. So it 'officially' died in May 2020.
