network from Smart Chain on metamask. Is it buying Ciotex then bridging it over?

Metamask supports native iotx. Note: you have to add iotex on metamask (if you haven't done so) to be able to access your iotx there. Follow this step here to add IoTeX to your Metamask wallet https://docs.iotex.io/get-started/iotex-wallets/metamask

sorry. this isn't helping at least I can't find anything. I have just set up the Iotex network on metamask and I need IOTX tokens. How do I send IOTX from BSC to the Iotex network. i have managed to send CIOTX from BNC to Iotex but I can't swap it to IOTX because I don't have IOTX for fees.

You are correct. Swap to CIOTX and then bridge via IoTube but read the below first. If you have access to binance AND you haven't swapped to ciotx, » Go to Binance » Deposit » IOTX » BEP20 (Binance Smart Chain) » Copy the address and send your IOTX-BEP20 to that address. IOTX Bep20 is not the same as CIOTX. CIOTX is the bridge-able version. When the IOTX has arrived in your Binance » Copy your iopay address » Go to Binance » Withdraw » IOTX » Select IoTeX Network » And paste the copied iopay address. By using this, you don't have to figure out how to get gas fee after using the bridge when you want to convert the CIOTX to IOTX native

can't bridge the iotx(of that network) directly. Gotta swap to ciotx » bridge » once the ciotx has arrived » assuming you want the native for whatever purpose, you have to swap the ciotx to iotx (which requires gas fee in native iotx 😅)

Thanks. Ill just send bnb from metamask to binance exchange. Convert it there to IOTX then send that to Iotex network. Just out of curiosity. Why wouldn't IoTeX allow for bridging the native token between networks? It seems a little complicated... but Im willing to bet there is a reason. Still new to this and would like to learn... 😊

I think it was due to limitation in the contract of that iotx for that network. I gotta double check on that. 1 thing I'm sure is that, the CIOTX is like the universal version - for example if you bridge CIOTX from Binance Smart Chain to IoTeX network, and then you wanna move it to Ethereum, you can directly bridge that same CIOTX without swapping to another wrapped token.
