but what is the relative immutability of images associated with CashTokens?
It all depends on the image host, right? Is it possible, for example, for someone down the line who is not the token issuer/holder to alter an image associated with a coin?
There's two sides afaik. There's the hosted image, and there's also the onchain stuff pointing to the image. The latter can be changed too, but only if you haven't burned the authority to change it, so that's publicly auditable (whether or not the metadata can be updated). The former can be changed if it's just a regular link, but if it's a file hosted via IPFS then the files are linked to by their hash, not by an arbitrary URL. So the image "located" at an IPFS address shouldn't be changeable. @all, did I get that right?
CashTokens is about much more than NFT Jpegs. But as far as anything hosted off chain there is the potential for it to be changed yes.
☝️This too. It all depends on how the NFT is set up offchain
Yes, I know it is much more than jpegs of course. Wrote that interview with Dreyzehner for Bcom way back before the upgrade and am pumped on the capabilities.
Thanks! This is what I was hoping to learn!
