have a backdoor key created by the author?
2) is it true we cant audit supply of arrr and xmr?
3) if we decide to make an update on arrr, doesnt that mean a new bug can accidetally be introduced? shouldnt we want it to stay unchanged?
We would all have been fked by now I'm sure?
The code is open source, has been audited by a firm, and has been running for 5 years which is an audit in itself. ARRR supply is audited as it's mined. The initial coinbase tx's are the only visible tx's on pirate. We can see how many coins are being mined, and how many have been mined. Also, there was a migration in 2019 in which all circulating coins were counted. There was about 1 million coins that didn't make the migration, so we confirmed the supply at that point. Any blockchain is going to need updates for many reasons. One, for example, is that hardware and operating systems are constantly improving. Pirate must stay compatible with new devices.
That is always a possibility, but how do we fix anything or implement new features without updating the code?
