Question about Selene wallet- why did it not use the

derivation path that it says is its default?

Yes, as of Jan 17 we have switched from the Bitcoin .com path to the one supported by the rest of the ecosystem pretty much. This has created some migration confusion, but it's best we do this now before the userbase grows too much more. We will add better auto scanning of both paths and an automigrate tool at some point, but like everything, we'll get to it when we get to it

Selene is a forward looking wallet. With our upcoming growth, we will no doubt begin to tip the scales on actual wallets created before too long. We decided not based on the past, but on the future - as with all our work for BCH. Thank you for the offer, but we are confident in our decision.

NOOOOOOOOO! They started on 44/0 then migrated to 44/145/ But it's been discussed ad nauseam. Wallet devs have to check common paths when users input seeds. You may have had funds on the non-default path, and they detected it.
