@Samkazemian hey Sam. Have you guys thought about implementing a

ragequit function in the next version of vefxs? Maker will be implementing a ragequit in their next vote lock mechanism and I think it’s a great idea for the protocol to capture some additional value.

If there was some dynamic way to price the ragequit fee, that would be a good idea but I always feel like a hardcoded fee that is randomly thought of out of thin air with no context or reason is not the best way to do it. But with that said, we have built the possibility of it being implemented in the new veFXS contract for Fraxtal.

I’d scale it by time locked. For example if you were locked for 4 years you’d have a 25% ragequit fee but if you were 2 years locked you have a 12.5% ragequit fee.

More along my liking, but an even better alternative would be if the rage quit fee is a product of the ratio of time elapsed linearly along your lock up. As in, given a governance enacted global fee, if you’re two years into your four year lock up, you’d pay 50% of the fee, while three years along you’d only pay 25%, etc. Even more interestingly would be if instead of a static fee, we could have an elastic variable that tracked the “demand” for rage quitting along some sort of price curve, so the more people that started rage quitting (given x current event) would basically increase the penalty for doing so for everybody else, perhaps even only for a specific “cooling period”. I hope that made any sense, but it’s way past midnight and I’m a little bit buzzed so haven’t fully thought through that specific scenario too much so don’t quite quote me on it just yet lmaoo

A declining auction would be interesting. Starts at 1:1 and declines to a point where market wants to buy the locked position. This way you don't get unlocks of FXS.

This got me thinking, so I wanted to check out the veFXS contract to understand it better, but can’t seem to find it in the repo. I see the veFXS_Solidity.sol.old at frax-solidity/src/hardhat/contracts/FXS but where is the current version located? Inquiring minds would like to know 🧐

Jesus. 25% is one hell of a cut bro. I get it was just an example, but that was a hell of a seed to plant lol

Can anybody point in the direction of finding more information about Maker’s rage quit implementation of their vote lock mechanism? I tried searching their governance forum but couldn’t find anything relevant. Trying to figure out it they’re going with a smooth brained arbitrarily chosen static rage quit fee. Hopefully not lol
