It's completely misaligned. Ram holders just want ram scarcity. Dapps want know costs. Eos holders want the platform to prosper with more transactions. Ram doesn't worry about transaction count as much as ram cost. It nuts

RAM rentals is an interesting concept and it’s being talked about. No idea how it’d work yet though. As for speculation, it’s going to happen. Imagine it was happening to EOS more and people were buying it and then raising the price. Say it goes up 100x… people’d be happy - but now the powerup fee for 1ms goes from roughly $0.002 up to $0.20. Are speculators/squatters on EOS now creating a situation where you’re asking “how can this be good for anyone?”
