When a billion usdt roll off the press, what happens

next to get them dispersed into the market? Some retail traders might actually buy some usdt using usd, but that’s not the largest way that it gets in is it?

Usdt market cap is only 4% of crypto market cap. If all tethers evaporate it’s only 4% down + loss due to flight of funds. That sounds like 30-40% altogether. But that volatility is just another Tuesday.
So why do so many believe the event would be meltdown level - more shocking, more severe, and prolonged? To compare, 2023 bank failures totaled $550B, 20% of crypto market cap.
