Ordinals or even inscriptions could be done cheaply and effectively on BCH. What you need to understand is that the POINT of the inscriptions is that they are expensive and hard to use, the "status signal" comes from how trollish and expensive they are. That's why they do them on BTC and not on ETH or whatever.

apparently they’re starting to do them on eth blobs. which makes little sense since they’re not even available long term lol. so seems to be mix of status symbol plus being literal degens.

Yes, this is how I see it. My concern was more on the side of how we avoid the same thing happening on BCH when the time comes.

1. Don't poison our chain with SegWit / Taproot (done). 2. Have sensible minimum fee relay policies (done). 3. If people want to spam & pay miners, great! That's just success for our chain and will drive tooling and interest and liquidity and price and hype. I can't wait for it to happen.

that kind of thinking makes people rightly worried about fee markets which ABLA helps but isn’t immediate.
