yourself, why was this channel made in the first place?
The name "EOS Elites" itself insinuates there's a class of individuals the ENF does not feel should have access to information that they are sharing.
If the ENF had sincerely wanted to make sure everyone benefited, they wouldn't have felt the need to start a gated telegram community.
The ENF is only focused on individuals that will help them influence their desires.
Essentially, by holding enough EOS it feels as if they are saying, "You hold enough EOS to be of some influence, we'll let you into our little club, wherein we'll share with you information about what goes on inside the ENF before anyone else. What you do with that information is up to you, oh by the way, remember, this information comes from us, we're only trying to help you, not influence how you feel about as in any way."
I respectfully disagree, IMHO and for what i remember to have read before i joined that group the reason was because in this chat, and in other social networks many people that may not even ever hold or have never tried the EOS blockchain spoke very bad, insult and wrote many negative things about the first 3/4 year path, the B1 one, etc., the EOS chain and community, so in that group they wanted to hear the point of view of people that are actual EOS holders, and have money at risk if the project fail... this is what i remember to hear in this group, on twitter and in the EOS discord channel before joining recently that group. And i have to say that in this sense i think it makes sense to have a group that share opinion between members of the community, even though i liked more the EOS discord channel, but it doesn't exist anymore, so at least it is another place where talk about EOS rather than only this channel, twitter or the appreciated by me youtube fireside chats
But if the ENF was trying to build trust in the wider crypto community and re-establish EOS, why was there a need to gate access to information? I can't say for sure but my feelings on the matter is that a community within a community only serves to hide information for selfish purposes only. A community within a community does not establish trust and only further fractures any remaining faith that the crypto community had in EOS. When I join a blockchain community, if there's a foundation at the helm, the expectation is that I am just as privelaged to information as the largest bag holder. The foundation itself may discuss things internally and they may choose to share some information while withholding other information, but holding a certain quantity of tokens shouldn't bar me from / grant me access to more information.
