The token isn't being replaced. The ETH token will continue in existence, and will be able to be bridged to Cosmos 1:1. The team has confirmed this already

Eth is for trading on exchanges. The cosmos token is to be used with in the data layer ecosystem.

to keep liquidity of the token as big as possible, some day i’d like our token to be on as several main blockchains and as many DeFi platforms as possible as a global asset representing gas for data
