Yes & no. Immediately, no. But if transaction volumes grow over time and ABLA raises the limit high enough, then yes. That will take many many years though.

Right now we can do about 128 TPS, we could grow into 1k TPS after few years, which also happens to be at the limit of current tech stack (due to pool orphan rates). By the time we get to 1k TPS, the tech stack should be improved to get us ready for 10k without risking decentralization, and so on until we reach 1M :D

indeed, it's fun to realize this. When I first validated a downloaded 256MB block and I was noting it took 45 sec or so to verify and update the UTXO, I figured it was slow. (numbers from 2019) But in reality that is insanely fast and likely to be much faster when we actually have that volume on a real chain.
