What do you think of Namada? Are we going to be too late to the party

I think Namada/Anoma is awesome because (a) they are doing good innovation on tech, (b) they seem to be high-integrity, mission-aligned people from my interactions with them and from their public posts and talks, (Awa Sun Yin, Chris Goes, and Adrian Brink, and also Gavin Birch), (c) they have spoken out very forcefully about the value of Zcash’s contribution to both the tech and the politics, and (d) they have promised to give back to the Zcash community, by building a bridge to the Zcash network and by airdropping tokens to ZEC holders. Super awesome. Next time (if ever) that I talk to the makers of Penumbra, Aleo, Aztec, zksync, etc etc, I’m going to suggest to them that the way Anoma/Namada has connected with the Zcash community is a model that they would be smart to follow.

Impossible. I think Namada will rather play “onboarding to privacy pool” role from which Zcash will potentially benefit by having a compatible privacy pool. The compatibility between pools actually augment the total privacy set so it can only be a win for Zcash. But on a long run, namada is already outdated because they are using sapling. I tend to consider namada as a test deployment of zsa on sapling which can benefit Zcash when deploying ZSA on Orchard.
