When there is a need for it. Keep in mind that the 480k TPS resulted from testing 20 chains PLUS 2 Kuro chains attached to each of the 20 chains back in 2020. Currently, based on internal testing we are at roughly 50 TPS per chain resulting in 1,000 TPS for the network. To get to ~500k TPS by adding more chains, we would need 10,000 chains. What is needed is not transactions per second. What is needed is a fast transaction finality. With other words dont care about how many transactions 100 kadena chains can do in theory, but the time it takes for your transaction to be finished from when you clicked the button. A prof of work chain cant deliver that. Only a "evm" chain, hopefully kadena integrate one for public use. I have lots of dapps i like to deploy then.
