I assume the genesis block and every block until the

spam cap implemented was uncapped. I assume null is working some pedantry here in that maybe there was a 32mb or much higher limit to the genesis block? He cant be that brazen to just flat out refute but I can’t find anything that outright shows the block size cap of the genesis block.

yeah they're not explicit in consensus, but imagine running the old node and someone patches a new node with bigger msg size and tries to mine a block, how would the old clients react to such block? crash or ignore?

the blk filesize is 128MB. That's a limit. The message size was 32MB for years. Probably still is on BTC. That's a limit. none of those are consensus limits. you won't find them in the consensus file or the spec or the consensus lib.
