[yea.ok] okay i see, would love to see how it will be implemented.. i wonder if there is a way to increase speed of l1, like reducing block times etc?

[dΣathgripson] l1 speed needs to remain consistent for several reasons, one is propagation, in order to keep the network decentralized and prevent forks / reorgs happening due to network latency 2 mins is a relatively non-conservative choice already for block time assuming ergo gets adopted all around the world. the emission contract would go out quicker and there's already a pretty fast emission reduction in ergo. Work is being done to try and decrease confirmation times and variance but really most of that needs to be variable no matter how fine tuned it gets.
