The stuff I have seen from you is good quality. What prevents you from using the gear you have to continue? What are you planning to spend the $5000 on in new gear specifically and how would it level up your REACH to get more people into BCH?
Currently, I'm using a Canon 60D with an 18-55mm lens and a Boya microphone, which is the cheapest available. As a result, the sound quality in my videos isn't great, and sometimes I have to re-record. For the upgrade plan, I'm planning to get a Sony FX3, which is $2,300 refurbished, and a Hollyland Mic M2, which is around $300. For lighting, I'll get a Colbor 600 Pro fully equipped, which costs $700. Additionally, I'll buy a Sony SEL50F18F lens for $200. This brings the total for equipment to $3,500, and I'll allocate $1,500 for research , internet and editors.
I have a 60D and that lens. it is more than fine for static shots in my opinion. As for mic's there are far cheaper options and I think your current lav mic is fine. As for lighting..... $700 for a static shot... again I think thats bananas. There are all kinds of great LED options for much much less. Plus I think what you have is fine. I understand WANTING to get better gear. But will it really make a world of difference. I doubt it.
the FX3 is a cinema camera. For just YT video's there isn't much need. I've had my eye on it for a few months now tho - I completely understand the want. Just be cautious about gear acquisition syndrome. The best gear is the gear you have.
