is that Marius is not advocating for full POS switch but ADDING Avalance to work in tandem with POW. But as I keep saying. If no one makes a CHIP no one will take it seriously. Its like all things in BCH and the things that / someone needs to do. It needs a leader and a driver and an advocate. Want 1 minute blocks? Make a CHIP and really dig into it and research all the positives and negatives. Want 42m coins? Make a CHIP and really dig into it and research all the positives and negatives. Want a 3 month/year/decade upgrade cycle? Make a CHIP and really dig into it and research all the positives and negatives.
42M coin? Wtf 😳
For example. People talk about all kinds of things all the time. But if no one makes a CHIP and does the work its all just fantasy talk that goes no where.
let's not tell people to waste our energy by making chips for ideas that should be discarded from the get-go like 42M coins
I agree. But that misses the point. If a CHIP gets 0 engagement because it is universally panned, then it is documented and no one needs to waste time with it again for at least a while. How often does changing the algo and 1 min blocks and on and on come up over and over? Yet no one makes CHIPs for these things because even the most passionate people with these ideas do not think they are worth the effort to make a chip. Why? Because community sentiment is obviously not in support or they are lazy or lack confidence etc. So... Make a CHIP or let it go. No need to engage everyone in hundreds of messages in debate across multiple TGs and other social media. Make a CHIP, fight for it. See if you get traction. Or. Just don't.
Agreed. But if you dont gather the results or document it etc... what is the point?
If anyone is actually super motivated to work on something like that, it probably makes more sense to just create a fork of BCH. Reason being it would be very controversial at least at the present time, so even if it did get traction, at "best" it would result in a chain split.
I doubt anyone who is not motivated enough to make a CHIP would be motivated enough to make a new chain.
for sure. i'm just saying anyone who actually is motivated should just go ahead and make a coin :)
If there's one thing we can all agree on - it's that we need more coins!
who doesn't love a good airdrop now and then 😁
By documenting you mean putting the whitepeper into github and BCR you mean?
