a year and how that wasn't testnet?? Werent they stress testing the network???
They are the networks foundation nodes
The test net is now on mainnet 2.0 which is not the same as how the Foundational nodes/network were testing. Lots more to mainnet 2.0 as far as functions/features.
It's a pretty outrageous question tbh, 112 nodes is not the same 3000 nodes.
You’re a patient man brother
Thank you Robin this makes sense!
The 112 nodes are mainnet. Each batch of new nodes went through testnet. Why do you think 112 nodes can prepare for a sudden increase to thousands of nodes.
I can't begin to answer that question as I don't completely understand the tech. I was not aware that you needed to have the entire network active in order to stress test it as most test nets don't. I don't think I or anyone else asking this question was trying to be difficult. Not everyone understands how these things work. Just curious if that was the case and if the team knew that the network needed to be stress tested but had not yet even started the stress test, why wait until now to tell everyone when this is the day nodes 2.0 was supposed to be launched? I'm sure there;s a reason, I would just love to know what it is.
Sounds to me like the foundation nodes were stress testing the network but now all the state channels themselves are being tested
