Yes. Imagine I create this network and it's just me mining with one computer. The system is set so that there will be a new block height (1 block on every chain) approximately every 30 seconds. Now imagine that you start mining with one computer. Now there are twice as many computers trying to solve the mining problems and that means that blocks will be created twice as fast. But we don't want that because if blocks are created too quickly there won't be enough time to send them all around the world to everyone participating in the network. So the system is designed to auto-adjust to keep blocks being created at about one block height every 30 seconds. Bitcoin works the same way except that Bitcoin is one block every 10 minutes. Since there is twice as much computing power after you joined, that means that the system will have to double the difficulty of mining a block.

Can one stake this token?
