as we are seeing the ecosystem grow. Thoughts on further enhancing and increasing visibility and adoption?
We are well aware of the fact that the barrier to entry into the cosmos ecosystem are fairly high especially from a developers point of view. Most developers are comfortable with solidity currently and learning a new language like rust/golang isn’t child’s play and would take a lot of time and resources.
Cosmos for some odd reason so far hasnt believed in marketing or large funding/grants to bring on adoption and developers. Cosmos currently believes in organic growth.
A well planned funding/grant program to bring on development adoption with a large marketing budget to make the superior tech of cosmos ( IBC/SDK) visible is something which cosmos needs.
Atom holders don’t have to take all the brunt but I am a sure a well rounded funding/grant program which 5-6 early IBC chains can pool together would be extremely beneficial.
Organic growth is great and sustainable but also takes a lot longer and risks being taken over by new tech. Hence marketing is a great tool to further enhance visibility/adoption of a project at a faster rate to the extent that it can become future proof.
Every great project/company uses marketing and funding budget to bring on visibility and adoption.
It’s like a domino effect. Look what Amazon did. They just took market share away from everything else. Now their ecosystem is so big that u don’t step out of it. Do u think they achieved this with 0 marketing. They spent billion in marketing and giving away free stuff for years. Look where they are now.
In any case that course is something which the team and community will have to decide. Crypto today is very early and it is clearly a race for legitimacy and adoption. Cosmos has proved its legitimacy and its superior tech is far ahead in the lead. It just needs to showcase itself to the world especially IBC which in my opinion will the future if done correctly.

Hello, This is great. No doubt. But the best to discuss such topics, you should use ; https://forum.cosmos.network After discussion it on forum, preparing a proposal with a good plan of all details included might be very effective.
Go and Rust aren’t new languages. They are designed by Google and Mozilla respectively. Yes they have steep learning curves but there is no shortage of resources and support. The Cosmos ecosystem will have smart contracts in secure JavaScript soon with Agoric. Evmos is coming as an EVM chain with Solidity support. Data chain was recently funded to develop IBC-Solidity. Cosmos didn’t invent a new language, it is adopting existing languages. I’m not against what you’re saying. Marketing would be helpful. And that’s what community pools are for, to fund developments and projects that bring value to the network. A good marketing proposal would bring value. We have funded one such effort (prop 34 and 46). If you want an idea of some of the marketing being done to bring on developers checkout this video by Informal Systems for Rust Conf. 2021: https://youtu.be/TUqsGZ8GHrk
