CELO requires a bank account, and hasn’t built partnerships with telecoms and mobile money operators. How can someone in Nepal who doesn’t have a bank account, cash out while using CELO?

Hi there. So I'm not too familliar with Celo, but at a glance, they look like they are a mobile-first platform that targeting financial dApps and crypto payments. Where as we are a decentralized cryptocurrency (with exchange wallet) as well as a remittance payment system. Our goal is to streamline the global remittance of money via the integration of blockchain and the telecommunication industry.

they are using phone numbers

Sure, and as is telcoin so that is a similarity. I’m referring to the on/off fiat ramps, Telcoin has a remittance focus. If you don’t have a bank account, how can someone in Nepal cash out for local Currency using CELO? Telcoin is trying to capture the 2 billion unbanked people who have phones and access to the internet. This is also where TelX comes into play, they are creating an ecosystem where recipients can choose to cash out in local currency, or crypto. Then the app will offer liquidity pools as well. CELO doesn’t have anything setup for its users to capture a % of the fees as well.

Lol so funny 😂

???

That question gets posted constantly on this. The official answer is soon. “On the cusp”. Very near future.

Don't be alarmed, we largely have a very enthusiastic and good humoured community who have been very patient with us launching a global working product to market. Because of the remittance compliance, on/off ramps with telecom partners, etc etc, it just takes a while to get things over the line. To compound this, we sometimes don't share as much as we'd love to with everyone because we need to be stealth / maintain competitive advantage. Anyway, we are on the cusp of launching 3.0 of the Telcoin Mobile Application, and soon to be followed by 3.1 where swaps will be integrated with the first set of viable markets, while TELx is on its way to becoming a formidable marketplace capable of powering user-owned, decentralized financial products globally. Thank you for this, are you able to confirm if the “swaps” button will be integrated with V3 or V3.1?

Indeed, soon to be followed by 3.1, swaps will be integrated. Without putting any heat on the devs, I'd imagine that the new application system, once onboarded and tested will be able to amend to newer versions faster. Thanks for answering to @Madi_heaven so nicely by the way, always satifying from an admin/community perspective 👌

Why because he said ‘on the cusp’ instead of ‘very soon’? Only joking this does sound a bit more promising than the usual generic replies to V3 queries

Soon, cusp, soonish, imminent. They all mean the same when they are used for timeframes between 1 day and several quarters. These words mean nothing at all to be honest
