just a thought . if say volume between polygon and avalanche is very high. doesnt this incentivise both networks to do a standalone bridge. thereby bypassing renvm?

Underrated point. There are so many liquidity choke points in blockchain/crypto; the biggest being the total liquidity available on a given protocol at a given moment (especially if not ETH). There are also transaction fees and compatibility issues to think about in moving liquidity, which often involves disposing of one asset to another (which usually creates a presumably-taxable event).
