rewards on Lattice? There is no compounding unless you acquire a new node via rewards. Shouldn't it be APR to be technically correct which should reflect the percentage as total dag to be rewarded per a single node? Last months was approximately 2600 so 2631/250,000 = 1.05% rewards per month, therefore 12.628% APR a year but the APY is reported as 14.8%. how is that figured derived since there is no compounding element to the rewards? Not trying to FUD just generally confused on this.
My understanding of that discrepancy was that the apy is dynamic, mimicking the nature of the rewards of mainnet 2.0. We started the month lower than 14.8 and only ended up at that apy. So for the early days, and weeks it was in the 12s And 13 minus the 4 days of enrollment. So out of 30 days we got rewards for 26 and not sure if it was calculated on a minute, hour or daily scale, but I thought it was a running tally of whatever that time scale was.
14.2% is the figure on Lattice, which was just what the live APY was at the end of staking.. your average is roughly correct for the whole period
Hgtp:// and Reservoir Dag$ thanks for your replies. I wanna be clear I am happy with the APR not fudding. And your explanations for why the reward rate should be higher this month as opposed to last make sense logically, but all else equal, that would be true of APR and APY. I still dont really see a logical explantion for how APY could be derived using the staking method which is a monthly snapshot that only allows compounding interest when the rewarded amount plus original exceeds an additional node
I've been tracking the average APY this evening and it has been increasing gradually, currently sitting at 11.08%
your question is legit, and a clear explanation would be great. but at the end of the day i agree that it's just splitting hairs and the APR is still great
Again???? Thought this was done
Okay man, if it was "done" would you mind referencing the answer that put the question to rest in the first place? if you think my simple question is FUD, the best way to dispel it is by providing the allegedly simple answer. But if there isnt really an answer and just asking a question in good faith is deemed FUD and you find it tiresome then that just kinda sucks I guess. I already said I was not intending to FUD and that I am happy with the APR. I hold and have participated in the community trying to help answer peoples questions where I have benefited from others knowledge before me. Now I am asking a question and I dont see how your dismissive answer is helpful. I dont care THAT much was simply curious for its own sake. If there is no clear answer then I guess that is that.
Iliyarb, what exactly is your query?
