Why would nodes need to be permissioned or applied to

be on the network ?

Also the main question I came here for, the constellation network has state channels how can define their own consensus and validation and data/logic structure essentially.

It also stated that state channels would be DAG’s of the global state DAG

Does this mean if BTC or ETH or DOT became state channels on the constellation network they would be a DAG architecture and no longer blockchains ?

So for now on testnet there is a limit to the number they add at once. This allows them to scale effectively without adding an overwhelming number of ppl to test net and is also done in such a way that they can’t be assisted along the way if needed.

1. Because we are in the test net stage where we do things in a controlled manner to test out the protocol and thus there is a registration and onboarding process to be a test net validator. 2. Yes State Channels can define their own consensus and reward model! 3. Yes you could in theory rebuild the consensus of BTC on the Hypergraph as a State Channel and it's base structure (the Hypergraph protocol) would be indeed a DAG. Though personally i believe the networks will just keep living on their own chains while being interoperable to the Hypergraph and utilizing our scalability.

How would that last part work where they continue living on their own chain but utilize Hypergraph at the same time ?

So for BTC a theoretical idea could be to aggregate transactions to save on fees or some privacy app in the direction of mixing with the logic on a Hypergraph State Channel. For Ethereum it is a more straight forward explanation —> we can outsource Ethereum smart contract logics into a Hypergraph State Channel and subsequently save 70-90% of transaction fees.
