To provide immediate security and immutability of the blockchain, DeFiChain

will be anchoring itself to the bitcoin blockchain. Every few minutes, DeFiChain saves its most recent Merkle tree to the Bitcoin blockchain

From the white paper.

Does that mean that in between anchoring, we are still prone to attack ?

What is the anchoring frequency currently? E.g. anchor every 100 blocks ?

Any system is prone to attack, please understand that. Even Bitcoin can be attacked, just think of a 51%attack. Your question should be what does defichain dev teams do to limit such possibility? Basically and if you are reading through the pink and white papers, which is good 👍, you will already have noticed that defichain is a bitcoin hardfork, sharing therefore it's core safety, while being non-turing complete (contrary to ethereum for example, which is turing complete). This by itself limits enormously any attack vectors, since the added simplicity provided by the non-turing completeness allows the minimization of error points in the code. Bitcoin anchoring is an additional layer of security in which defichain community writes the transaction records on the bitcoin blocks, ensuring the maintenance and accuracy of the transactions information, as well as block connections. You can find more information on the anchoring in the bellow link. If I am not mistaken, anchoring is currently performed at each 120 blocks, so every hour. https://github.com/DeFiCh/ain/wiki/What-is-an-anchor%3F
