Atleast do we get hot staking after converting to holofuel?

Just become a Holo host! Alternatively there may be liquidity pools, like the current one for HOT on Orion protocol for you to provide HoloFuel as an LP pair and earn that way. It won't be earning HF, but it's possibly another way to put your Fuel to work!

I already am a host. A defi platform on Holo would bring a lot of users. Stake/farm/ LP…etc with HF earning HF I think would be great. If I have the funds for it, I’d consider building one.

Doesn’t matter whether it’s needed. Is not presented as something that’s needed. It’s presented as something that’s possible, proving that you can do non-financial applications using Holochain and host them on Holo.

TBH I know that defi is the reason why blockchain saw wide spread adoption because people care a lot about getting rich overnight than privacy or new tech. But defi is like the vcs of today’s start ups.

Of course and that’s awesome. He was just saying there’s no need for defi on web3. I think I heard Vitalik say recently he didn’t vision defi on ETH. Just like defi isn’t needed on Holo, but I think it’s a great opportunity and could fix a lot of issues that are presently on other chains.

TBH I get your point. If someone actually did defi on Holo it can actually be done in a way that can make cryptos an actual contender to a Fiat currency. TBH calling btc or eth a defi is actually very wrong. They can never be anything more than a commodity with their 7-1000 tps and 100 usd+ transaction cost. I think a defi built on holo can circumvent these two issues. A defi token built on holo would actually come closer to being a currency rather a commodity than eth or btc. It will prolly still be more volatile than a normal Fiat currency but maybe there’s a way to deal with that too
