Or even now, whom would you give a vote? 3-4

names are popping up in public chats, but how about other? EOS Sweden, for example, is providing a vital service, but does anyone know that?

EOSrate.io should see way more usage & publicity

It doesn't work. I mean, a common EOS holder doesn't even care for whom they vote. Some just give their stake to rewarding proxies and forget the bother

Won't work. There was plenty of publicity and campaigns. A common person doesn't really care about voting

Those who have much to lose on the network (stake) have the power to choose. How do you know who has the stake? The individual with the most tokens. People think @BigBeardSamurai rant is irrelevant, but they a missing the point. If people believe that there is corruption in dpos then using the chain will be slim. We must make it clear that there is no corruption. Eos is a DPOS chain. Maybe in the future, there will be decentralized governance that would allow for communities with high stakes to pick the BPs. When it comes to voting, voting rights are essential, especially when people think that EOS is a democratic chain. Due to the history of voting rights, when the narrative comes across, someone is buying votes. The alarm bells go off. It triggers users in the community to want to fight for their rights to vote without corruption. The system is set up for one to have the ability to delegate their stake (money) to whomever, whether it is exchanges, proxies, etc. While this is not ideal, that is the system right now; if we acknowledge that those with stake are doing nothing wrong by delegating their stake to whomever they want, we can move past the BPs' are corrupted mindset.

corruption is subjective. The kickback/payment for votes is inherent in the system. Lets not be naive about things.

Currently all the power on the platform lies on the bps which most of us in the community are not familiar with the bps so I think bps should solely produce blocks and give the governance to a different entity, I think the platform should have the basic software to be able to run without 15 bps having the authority change such thing... hopefully this could be implemented as the platform evolves 😁

the BPs run the code...they will always have ultimate control of that code they run. Any other governance entity would be strictly symbolic until the BPs choose not to obey.

I would suggest a better approach is having the BPs run w/out authority to change the network/freeze accounts. Those accounts/users who which to have a seperate entity provide custodianship to their accounts can opt into those services. By opt in to those services, any TX is automatically covered under the arbitration of the custodian.

If the community knew the bps and they engage with community more often then it would be a different story, perhaps eden communities would do a better job in governance

Rule #1 in crypto: Dont trust. Verify.

We're trusting the bps to do everything right

Yep. The freezing of tokens ? Good move aye

The point was to spread all that power to at least 2 entities and have the bps solely produce blocks, less stress on the bps
