What is Testnet? Can someone explain it a lil bit more

It’s the testing environment of mainnet 2.0

Does mean lattice staking won’t start for another eight months? Or is there something before?

It's a loose timeline. We will know when they tell us mainnet is live. Staking is a different animal however. Staking already happens now, right? I would keep watching for LTX staking opportunities.

No lattice staking at all, it was said by Ben J that it would be mentioned in the state of the union and nothing was said? So another eight months or so?
