But can Ripple privatize the billions of xrp that it holds in escrow to be used with banks and cross border pmnts? Leaving us retail investors out of the game with our holdings remaining in the cents while the ones they use is valued in the thousands if need be?
I’m assuming the ledger can be manipulated to do this and they can mask transactions kind of how ethereum did it for their whales.
I know the govt would hate the reality that most xrp HODLers will become millionaires and therefor unacceptable for them.

Any thoughts on something like this happening?

You are right, however, governments need to let XRP holders get rich so that CBDCs are better accepted by the people. They leave us a few crumbs but will take all the rest of the cake for themselves

Interesting point of you. I hope that’s how they’re thinking but I doubt it. Their crumbs to us would be in the cents or maybe a dollar. I just hope ripple really tries to stick it to them and flips the switch BG spoke about as a f u to them.

I can only imagine very, very serious backlash... I mean serious... And what if a government paid to duplicate the Ripple/XRP technology, etc... Again, serious backlash... We have been on board hodling for years... any move to squeeze us "out" I think would be met with fury... IMO

Yes the backlash would be well deserved if that happens. With that being said I’m sure they won’t be any announcement of it if that’s the path they chose to go down. It would be some kind of under the table deal and we wouldn’t know any better. I’m sure the govt is working on their own thing, that’s the only rational explanation of holding Ripple and Xrp back, so they can get ahead of the game. I hope this isn’t the case and that I just put on a tinfoil hat today. 🍻

Something like this would be beautiful if it was realistically possible. But then again what are the chances of Ripple really burning the escrow they hold and lose out on that massive gain? I wouldn’t bet on it.

If Nodes,validators and community voted and had majority and agreed its better for the community then there is nothing to stop the burn. Its still a pipe dream thou, we have had this discussion many times. Try using the search function

If you read the first filling by the SEC you will understand why this case was brought. Im not sure were you got seizing of escrow from thou. Lets let the case conclude before jumping the gun.

Anything is possible, in my opinion who ever (country) is holding the majority of xrp will control everything. If we wait till the case is over, that will be to late.

Example: let's say the US government decided to buy all the xrp that's available, 100 billion.. how will the banks use xrp for cross border payments if the tokens aren't available to bridge fiat?

If xrp is going to be used worldwide and be a significant player in the world economy there is absolutely no way on earth that the rest of the world would let the US own it all

Whats stopping other countries from buying it? 55 billion are in escrow, in my opinion that's what the sec is after. Most of us will sell our xrp back for less than 100 dollars a coin.

You just answered your own question, if its not available then it cannot be used. My advice is to do a little real research on Ripple and XRP(links in the first pinned message). Learn the fundamentals of the relationship and maybe lay off the conspiracy threads.

Nothing is stopping other countries from buying it but again same thing if it is going to be a major player in the world economy it will need all the major nations to be in agreement, without the major nations agreeing then it is worthless one country holding it all

For years we have been hearing xrp price predictions, once in a while we hear Brad tell us more customers are using ODL, but the price keeps falling

The use of ODL is not significant enough to push the price up at this point (or it would surely go up?), xrp simply follows the rest of the market for now

If I'm not mistaken ODL should be one of the reasons why xrp price should go up.

As far as I know part of doing research is asking questions. Specially in the xrp community. From what I’ve seen no one that was having a conversation @ you. You jumped in and as soon as you did it was with the “I’m the all high and mighty Admin who knows it all”. Sometimes people like bouncing thoughts and ideas off each other and engage in conversation. If that’s something that bothers you then simply ignore it. Like I said, part of “do your research” is asking questions. You can ban me if you want. 🍻
