hope the current erc20 tokens once merged to L0 will be more reasonable. Even dag withdrawals seem steep as it should be feeless. C’mon kucoin
I mean, they're a business, they make money from fees.
They are a centralized exchange with set fees on withdrawals. This will not change with Mainnet 2.0. Any currency, L0 or any others, will have withdrawal fees if purchased on a CEX. Fees aren’t bad now. I remember when they were 200 DAG. I know OGs that remember 2000 DAG withdrawal fees😳😳
Wouldn't it be great if we could dictate the fees? We cannot. We can, on occasion, join forces as a community and ask that a particular token fee be reduced. Which we have, btw. But they are a business and they still try to make money. Whether or not it's a DAG or L_0 token coming off the exchange: they still gonna take their cut. Once it gets to the HGTP the fees will be reduced but until mainnet 2.0 is live and swaps etc happening--prob need to suffer through it.
What’s the cost of withdrawing xlm? Or algo? There are plenty of examples of chains with reasonable withdrawal fees on the exchange already. LTX is erc20 and a withdrawal is ~$25 currently, I’ve withdrawn ETH for less. That makes no sense. They make millions on trading fees, no need to defend their decision to charge arbitrary fees. We should be advocating for ourselves.
Pretty sure I mentioned advocating for ourselves in my response, didn't I? And I am not defending KuCoin rather explaining that it isn't all in the hands of Constellation to control the fees off KuCoin. I get frustrated with it too. Sometimes ppl get the "feeless" aspect of HGTP mixed into the KuCoin off ramp deal so I wanted to clarify the points.
I don't think you can really compare eth withdrawal fees to dag. Eth brings Kucoin much more in transaction fees. Kucoin is a for profit business. Until we have more liquidity elsewhere, our leverage is minimal.
