(Do you mean, I have to ask them ? )
I have the impression that even the nodes are not protected by SSL. @BerndMack @Stonygan. Is this a safe choice ?
What nodes are we talking about here and why do you see this as a problem?
Well, I took the nodes from the Wiki: List of Fullnodes 195.90.210.76:8555 (Germany, Berlin) 85.214.187.210:8555 (Germany, Berlin) 85.214.55.116:8555 (Germany, Berlin) 45.157.177.82:8555 (Germany, Karlsruhe) 185.244.194.174:8555 (Germany, Karlsruhe) 202.61.246.71:8555 (Germany, Karlsruhe) 24.134.79.25:8555 (Germany, Würzburg) 77.56.65.5:8555 (Switzerland, Greifensee) I do not know what protocol is used for the data exchange between wallet and Nodes but I see that I reach them via simple HTTP. I do not know the nature of the data exchanged but should not be the exchange protected against tempering and impersonation ? ( I know, I work in Cybersec so I am biased)
This is normal procedure for the internode connections. copied directly from bitcoin
Bernd, I get it now. The data are already intrinsically crypted with the wallet private/public key so they are already protected before reached the TCP/IP layer . Thanks for the hint
