Is it sustainable to rely on volunteers with no financial motivation? The hardware, internet connection, and electricity are not for free either. I am just trying to get the concept. There are other projects where you can earn passive income by running such nodes.
Thanks for the nice question. At the moment there are 1496 nodes running on Algorand. Throughout our previous years, we have partnered with several companies from various sections of the world to run nodes for us and to make sure the network stays online and decentralized. Apart from them, we try to hold new events to bring the community's interest in running nodes. Hope that answers your question.
