Why do Nexo has to respond to a guy who’s buying Twitter followers with fake picture? I think Nexo should absolutely ignore that retard
Not yet. I’m talking to the team to have one soon.
defamation is punishable
Even still they should put out a statement because some people will believe it.
Don't waste to much time on it!
Exactly
Even with a statement there will be People that believe
The statement just got published in our blog: https://nexo.io/blog/the-anatomy-of-fake-news-the-latest-attack-on-nexo
Giving too much clout to people like those might be counterproductive. His audience seems to lack the most basic critical skills anyway. Worth considering, in my opinion.
What about way back machine Why you have hidden your webs?
Sorry, I didn’t get that part.
Sorry. This URL has been excluded from the Wayback Machine.
I can't send screen shot
What is a “Wayback Machine”? I believe it’s not supported by us.
You can DM me.
HUGE red flag for NEXO. They don't allow you to archive or access an archived version of their website on https://t.co/E4M8tahsW2 or https://t.co/c9kUc9HtEq Probable reason is that they want to hide something! https://t.co/UzAjUvCi6D
Would love to know about this aswell. Never heard of this as of today. Love to learn about it
What an outstandingly and professionally based rebuttal! My respect and loyalty for Nexo has just gone off the chart! THANK YOU for always staying head and being proactive! 👏
Way back machine shows you what the website looked like and displayed in the past. And nexo just excluded their website Website owners can exclude their site from the way back machine. And this is VERY UNCOMMON!
I just copy pasted and I want you to explain
Thx for the info! never heard of such a thing. Im sure they have a good reason for this
I’m asking the comms team if they have heard of it.
It's and old website It's not new
All I know is that we never supported or engaged with it. I can't answer on the why part, that's why I asked how is common to be used from companies like Nexo.
The problem is you don't have to do anything about the wayback machine it does its job of showing history of a website by itself but you your self decided to desist your website form machine
Its an archive site, that indexes all websites on the net. Then you can see the history of the website at specific times. Like how the microsoft page looked at in the beginning, or yahoo or whatever. Websites can create noindex code to avoid being indexed by it, but thats very rare that anyone does.
My guess is that due to the nature of the business and the constant use of API systems, companies like Nexo update their offers, insurance, services, partners, team, etc. frequently. So, it'd be understandable if they were deemed ineligible or ALLEGEDLY withdrew from archives that might be accidentally accessed, confound, or mislead the public. How many exchanges, lending platforms, and crypto websites do you even see in that archive? I highly doubt this is a Nexo specific situation.
I've just checked if they include BlockFi, SwissBorg, Binance, CryptoCom, ByBit, Vauld, KuCoin, BitTrue, and many others! They don't. So, it looks very common for trading companies not to be archived there. I got no reason to find it suspicious. Most likely due to the structure of their websites and ineligibility.
Do you understand what Wayback Machine is? If website developer directly or for client changes website very often (the case of Nexo), it is good avoid archiving which could lead to misleading content when someone googles info of the current company/website that are not valid anymore. Avoid archiving is one of the several tools how to tell web spiders how to work with the content. That's all. Keep the distance of the paranoid fudder and have own opinion.
I have to send congrats for you and all your team for that article. It is so good and even hilarious seeing how the fudder is being trapped
Yeah, would be terrible if the website had the wrong info. Imagine if it for example said that Nexo has a AUM of $12+ billion, that would be pretty bad considering their current AUM is like $4.5 billion.
Hi, I didn't know anything about Wayback Machine before you mentioned it. But I checked some websites using the full URLs this time, and I saw that many trading sites are actually archived. I was wrong earlier on. Nexo website shows the following message instead: "This URL has been excluded from the Wayback Machine." I pasted it on Google and saw experts saying that it means the website can't be archived for various reasons: - Automated crawlers were unaware of their existence. - Password protection (enhanced security). - Blocked by robots.txt. - Inaccessible to the Wayback Machine automated systems. - Siteowners might have requested the exclusion. So, again, my guess is that Nexo's automated nature and high level security may be the resons why they're not eligible to be archived. It also seems to enhance their security and prevents outdated info to be visible during searches. One big forum/blog that shows the same result on WayBack Machine is Quora, for example.
It’s deliberate one way or the other. Other archive sites that they’ve not been excluded from have the Nexo site back to 2018.
It's blocked by robot.txt as mentioned in Oteros Twitter
It is decision per site. Developer/client decides which crawlers are ok for him and which are not - it is nothing unusual, it is correct approach on website vs. internet setup.
