a drawer, I would like to use it for a node, is it possible to use a 16GB M-SD or the 32GB is mandatory?
I've ported my RPI + IoTeX full-node guide on developers.iotex.io The RPI 4GB is great as a full-node / Gateway (not advised as a miner for those who plan to join the delegates pool). The only problem is with the size of the blockchain, the data folder is currently taking 131GB and it's better to mount that folder on an external hard drive for storage and speed performances. In my guide I also explain a few commands to use an external hard drive.
if I understand, the SD is only used to host the OS system, the rest happens on the external harddisk, HDD/SSD/USB key ? 256Gb is ideal, I suppose
Yes, the full-node configuration, data and logs live inside an iotex-var folder: ideally that folder should be mounted on an external HD. How big dependo on how frequently you want to replace it 😉 130GB host 2years of chain (though if traffic increments could be much less) If you really want to go with an SD card, I guess 256GB is the minimum and you should use one of those fast cards used in photography (V30, or V90)
Thanks for the clarification, I'll look into doing that today. una buona giornata😉👍
