minimum, so if we divide current soft nodes (~5600) by 3, does that mean we could have 1833 state channels at minimum of 3 nodes per SC?
We also will have Lite Nodes. Which could be utilized by State Channels that may not need as much txs or they aren't worried about the speed as much. 😉 Also... The limit of the amount of nodes could be changed in the future by governance if it were ever needed. An example of how they could scale the network further would be similar to a stock split. Basically doubling the amount of dag that holders own. Which would more than double the amount of nodes. 😉 But remember... That if the network ever got into a position to do this. All of us would probably be very happy campers... Because that would mean HGTP is very successful.
Or decrease the node collateral amount. Seems simpler
IF, and I mean IF this was ever an option, it most likely wouldn't occur for many years. I doubt it's even on the radar for constellation at this moment in time. The goal of constellation right now is to maintain stability and security of the network while moving into mainnet 2.0. The process of onboarding all the nodes will take a while. I believe earlier in the chat, dagnum talked about why the mainnet 1.0 nodes will be first. I would imagine that the whole roll out process of the 2.0 network will most likely take over a year. I would spend more time stacking DAG for now, I highly doubt the 250k collateral will ever be changed any time soon
Yes I suppose that could maybe a possibility if governance were to choose that route. But these are just hypothetical and simplified examples of what could be done. I'm sure whatever would be decided may be a little more complicated... But it's good to know that it wouldn't be very difficult if we find ourselves having to worry about this wonderful problem. 😉
